Based on the novel by S.J. Watson, Nicole Kidman is Christine, a woman suffering a strange form of amnesia. Every morning she wakes up and has completely forgotten who she is, where she is and everything else. Her husband Ben (Colin Firth) must explain everything to her every morning and he conveniently leaves sticky notes and pictures around the house to help her get through the day. Then the phone rings and her doctor, Dr. Nasch (Mark Strong) tells her that he has been trying to help her and that she keeps a secret video diary in her armoire. Things begin to change as she continues to video her day and work with Dr. Nasch. Where are her friends and why does Ben try to keep her under his thumb? Will she ever get her memory back?

I loved this book! I thought it was creative and had a nice twisty plot. The movie has great acting and it does keep you guessing. But, there are some glaring issues. I kept wondering why she had no friends and why she wasn't in active therapy. The book did a better job of explaining this while still keeping you in the dark. Eventually, the questions are answered but the movie was just not quite as satisfying as the book. Still, it's not a bad movie and it does keep you guessing until the end. Good for a matinee.
