A group of very good-looking and tanned lifeguards, headed up by Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson) is tasked with protecting the Bay. As a publicity stunt, the group is forced to take on former Olympian Matt Brody (Zac Efron) as he serves out his probation. As Mitch and Matt butt heads, Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra) is buying up all of the Bay property and importing drugs via the beach. Mitch, Matt and the rest of the lifeguard gang must work together to expose this criminal plot.

Ok. If you are going to this movie for the plot, then you are going to the wrong movie. This movie is stupid but pretty funny. The Rock and Zac Efron are both hilarious, playing to type and using their physical attributes to the fullest. Nothing wrong with that. The rest of the gang (Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera and Jon Bass) are all nice eye candy or just funny. There are a couple of scenes that are fairly graphic. They are played for laughs but are still a little embarrassing. If you were a fan of the original TV show, then you will be excited by a couple of cameos. Stay for the credits for an extended cameo scene. Overall, this movie is just what I thought it would be - good-looking people doing stupid things in bathing suits that made me laugh. If you are expecting anything else, then don't go. Otherwise, if you just want to have a little fun, then maybe go see this.
