This is a documentary pieced together from found footage and audio taken at the time of Apollo 11, the first mission to land on the moon. The film features Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins as they prepare for and actually pilot their trip to the moon.

This is an amazing film. It is quiet and slow at times but it is so historical. It should be required watching for kids today who have no idea what it took for these astronauts to make it to the moon. The film follows Neil, Buzz and Michael as they suit up and board the rocket. Of course, there was a hydrogen leak and they almost didn't take off. But, they did and then they made history. The film is told through reports by Walter Cronkite, announcements at Nasa and by live video and still photographs, some of which have never been seen before. All of this was shown in glorious IMAX. We see the NASA scientists scribbling math equations and working out trajectories so that the Rocket can take off, the lunar module can meet back up with the rocket and so that the rocket can re-enter the earth's atmosphere. This all seemed crazy dangerous - the Lunar module looked like it was made of tinfoil!  They say that there is more computing power used to place an order from Amazon today than they had available to land on the moon in 1969. Wow! Anyway, if you have any interest in the moon landing, then this is the film for you! Go see it!
