An Island full of all kinds of flightless birds is almost like paradise. They go about their days in blissful harmony. There are just a few outcasts - Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride). They actually meet in court mandated Anger Management. As they try to work out their issues, a ship of pigs lead by Leonard (Bill Hader) lands on their island. The birds are excited for the company and the entertainment (a Blake Shelton country show, no less!) that the pigs provide. Only the outcasts suspect that the pigs might have an ulterior motive. Will Red, Chuck and Bomb be able to prove their worth and save the day?

This movie is cute and funny. Since it is based on a gaming app, the plot is not very deep. The animation is good and the voices are all excellent. Sean Penn is a hoot with very few lines. This is really aimed at kids. It is not subtle. It is fairly frenetic and loud. I've seen better (Inside/Out and the Toy Story series) and I've seen much worse. If you have kids, they will probably like it. Otherwise, unless you are a HUGE fan of the app (or Blake Shelton - that's why I went. His music is featured and he plays Earl Pig), I would skip it.
