Runs 122 minutes

Picking up after Prometheus (but before the original Alien), we follow a space ship full of crew members and other colonists in sleep chambers headed to start a colony on a new planet. The ship is full of couples looking forward to their new lives. When the ship has an emergency, Walter (Michael Fassbender), an Android and the only crew member awake, is forced to rouse the rest of the crew about 7 years early. Due to a malfunction, the Captain (James Franco - in the world's shortest cameo) dies and Oram (Billy Crudup) must take over. Daniels (Katherine Waterston) becomes his second in command. They fix the ship but no one really wants to get back in the sleeping pods. Surprisingly, they find a suitable planet nearby and decide to check it out to see if it is habitable. BIG mistake. What they find has them fighting for their lives.

Wow! My blood pressure is still too high. This movie is one wild ride. It seems that a lot of critics are not too happy with this film but I thought it was pretty good. You really need to be familiar with the franchise and it definitely helps if you have seen Prometheus. I thought Michael Fassbender did a great job playing Walter and Daniel (back from the last movie). This installment is definitely gory and bloody. We see the beginning of the crazy alien creatures that need human hosts and pop out of people's chests. Certain parts are predictable and lots of characters die. But, overall I thought it was fast-paced and much scarier than Prometheus. So, for fans of Alien and Prometheus, you will definitely want to see this one. If you don't like blood, gore and edge of your seat suspense, then you might sit this one out. I liked it.
