This movie begins with Alice (Mia Wasikowska) as Captain of her Father's ship The Wonder. She has just returned home from a long voyage when she is summoned by Absolem (Alan Rickman in his last film) back to Wonderland because The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is seriously ill and his family is missing and presumed dead. The whole gang is there, Cheshire Cat, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Mirana (Anne Hathaway) and even Iracebeth (Helena Bonham Carter). They want her to find Mr. Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), borrow his time travel Chronosphere and go back in time. If she can prevent certain events from ever happening, she can save Wonderland and make the Mad Hatter well again. Only, Alice soon learns that you can't change the past. Will she be able to find out what happened to Hatter's family and save the day?

I thought this movie was very average. It was bright and colorful but even with all of the characters, it was still rather slow. The movie was almost two hours long and it felt like it. It was supposed to be whimsical but it just felt plodding. The original felt fresh and unique. There was nothing new about this film that made it special. Not much else to say. Very average. Ok for the whole family but a little boring for the adults. Matinee maybe?
