Jill's Review

Opens April 12, 2019

Runs 106 minutes

Good girl Tessa (Josephine Langford) heads off to college. She is driven and goal oriented. When her mother (Selma Blair) and her high school boyfriend Noah (Dylan Arnold) drop her off, they are concerned by her older and wilder roommate but Tessa assures them that she can handle it. She settles in and starts classes. All is good. Then, everything changes when she meets Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) the brooding and mysterious bad boy. He opens her world and her heart but all might not be perfect in their world. Can their relationship survive?

Apparently, this is based off of a best selling YA novel or series of novels. It is definitely aimed at the teen audience. It isn't terrible. Hero and Josephine were both good as Tessa and Hardin. The film kept my interest and I wanted Tessa and Hardin to stay together. There are lines that make you groan and stupid situations that make you shake your head. But, overall the film is watchable if you are a teenage girl. So, if you are, then you might want to go see it. Otherwise, probably pass.
