Runs 74 minutes

When Sonia Bonet's (Jana Raluy) insurance company refuses to pay for her husband's cancer treatment, she takes things into her own hands. With her son Dario (Sebastian Aguirre) in tow, she sets out to confront the coordinating Doctor face-to-face to plead her case. Little did she know that this would lead to blackmail, kidnapping and assault in an attempt to get the treatment that could save her husband.

A lot happens during this compact 74 minute movie. There is not any excess dialogue. It isn't hard to read the varying emotions across Sonia's face as she realizes that her husband's treatment will not be covered and that no one really cares. In fact, everything is based on profits these days and her husband is just a small drag on the bottom line. As she becomes more and more desperate, she eventually reaches a point of no return. And, in the background of the film, the running dialogue of Sonia's eventual trial plays out throughout the film. Almost like two movies at the same time, thus the compact running time. I liked this film. And obviously we are all sympathetic with her plight. I just didn't love it. I guess I would have approached this more logically so it was a little uncomfortable or something. And, I would have liked to see the trial and how that played out. But, overall it was interesting and short. A decent indie if you like those kind of movies.
