Runs 115 minutes (or as Trainer Joe says 85 minutes too long...)

This is a western spoof written, directed and starring Seth MacFarlane as Albert, an innocent sheep herder who hates living on the frontier and can only see the myriad ways people end up dying in the wild west. He loses his girlfriend Louise (Amanda Seyfried) to the Mustache King Foy (Neil Patrick Harris) and has to talk his way out of a duel over her. Then, Anna comes to town and he hits it off with her only to find out that she is married to the meanest killer in the west, Clinch (Liam Neeson).  Meanwhile, his best friend Edward (Giovanni Ribisi) is married to the town prostitute Ruth (Sarah Silverman) who won't sleep with him because she is saving herself for marriage. Really? And there are several scenes with sheep and people dying in various old fashioned ways.  Will Albert ever face his fears and take Anna as his own and live happily ever after in the wild, wild west?  Who cares...

This movie is so dumb.  I guess I knew that going in but I had hoped that it would be really funny to make up for the dumbness.  Some of it was funny, but most of it was just too stupid to even laugh at. Too many sheep jokes and lots of flatulence.  This is definitely a movie for juveniles (or juvenile delinquents).  Trainer Joe had a nice long nap, although he did wake up to a lovely scene of a sheep's private parts. Then he promptly went back to sleep.  I did giggle at things that should not have been funny, but I'm not really sure why.  There were way too many good actors wasted in this movie and some funny cameos.  I would not recommend this.  Wait until there is nothing else to do and then rent the DVD.
