A dog learns his true purpose in life as he bonds with various owners over several lifetimes.

This is one of the sweetest and most heartfelt movies out there. I know there has been some controversy over one of the scenes filmed involving a dog jumping into watrer. I have heard both sides of the issue and I hope the dog was treated properly. If you can look past the controversy, this is a very sweet and engaging film. Josh Gad voices the dog in all of his/her lifetimes. The dog as Bailey really bonds with his human Ethan (K.J. Apa as a teen). The dog's observations are so funny. And, it is different to see a movie told from the dog's perspective as he tries to figure out his purpose in iife. The cast also includes Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, John Ortiz and lots and lots of dogs. There are some very sad scenes as the dog does die and then return as a different dog. So, be prepared and bring some kleenex. Ok for kids as long as you explain to them what is going to happen beforehand.
