Runs 146 minutes

Lockhart (Dane DeHaan), a young, up-and-coming financial executive is sent to a mysterious Swiss Spa to retrieve the company CEO from his extended retreat. He thinks this will be a quick trip, tells his driver to wait, he'll be back in 20 minutes and goes inside to get his boss Pembroke (Harry Groener). Little does he realize that nothing is what it seems. He is forced to leave and told to come back during visitng hours the next day, only he is in a terrible car accident, wakes up with a broken leg and finds out he has become a patient of the clinic himself. Dr. Volmer (Jason Isaacs) tells Lockhart that he'll heal soon and then everythng will be fine. But, things are not fine. The Spa "patients" are all elderly and seem to feel that they are sick and must stay at the clinic to heal. Lockhart begins to think that these people aren't really sick and that something shady is going on. Then he meets Hannah (Mia Goth), the only other young patient at the clinic. He tries to bond with her but is discouraged by Dr. Volmer. Why do these people not want to leave this clinic? How does all of this tie to the legend of the Baron who once owned this property? And, what the heck is in the water that these people drink by the gallon?

I don't want to say much more to spoil any of the mystery. I actually liked this movie. BUT - it is creepy and there are several scenes that will stick with you long after the film is over. It will keep you guessing until the end. You can feel the pieces falling into place but even at the end, I still had a few questions about what the heck was going on. There are definitely some twisted things happening at this "Wellness Spa". It is like the Hotel California, you can check in but you can never leave. The movie runs long but I was never bored. Everyone did a great job. There are a lot of elderly naked people in this film, so be prepared. And, there are lots of icky eels. I like a good horror film but this was more a psychological horror film. It leaves you disturbed. So, if all of this sounds great to you, then go see it!
