Runs 95 minutes

Brian (Anton Yelchin), a young author living in New York meets a beautiful, older, married French Woman, Arielle (Bérénice Marlohe) smoking on the street. They strike up a conversation and are soon embroiled in an affair, the French way, between the hours of 5 to 7, when people's time is more fluid and unaccounted for. It becomes tricky when Brian realizes that Arielle has been open about the affair and her husband invites Brian for dinner. Brian's life starts to change. His writing is published and he is happy. But, soon he wants more. He asks Arielle to leave her husband and marry him. He wants all of her and he wants to be a proper stepfather to her children.  He is in love and his world has suddenly opened up in front of him. Will she give up her comfortable life for Brian or will this be his first big heart break?

I wasn't expecting much from this movie. Just based on the premise, I figured that I wouldn't love it. But, it wasn't so terrible after a pretty contrived beginning. It was cute but unbelievable. I could see why he would fall for her but I didn't see why she would be drawn to him at all.  Still it wasn't the worst movie I've seen (glowing praise, right?) Parts of the film were funny and parts were sweet. You could guess the ending a mile away. I did like how the movie used the sayings on the plaques on the park benches in NYC. I thought that was cute. Overall, an ok movie. Maybe worth a matinee if you are bored.
